In 1973 The Supreme Court said it was ok to kill unborn babies. Since then, we have killed more than the entire population of Canada. And it continues. A woman's choice? Half of those who have died in their mothers' wombs have been women. They didn't have a choice. It is called abortion.
Me? I go to church, the minister preaches, I go home. That's what Christians do now.
First, it was in dingy, dirty theaters. Then, convenience stores. Then, grocery stores. Then on television. Now it is in the homes of millions via the Internet. It is called pornography.

They call it no-fault. Why should we blame anyone when something so tragic happens. Haven't they already suffered enough? Half of the marriages in America end this way. The children suffered. The family broke down. It is called divorce.

At one time it was a perversion. We kept it secret. We secured help and hope for those who practiced it. Now it is praised. We have parades celebrating it, and elected officials give it their blessing. Now it is endowed with special privileges and protected by special laws. Even some Christian leaders and denominations praise it. It is called homosexuality.
Me? I go to church, the minister preaches, I go home. That's what Christians do now.
It used to be an embarrassment. A shame. Now a third of all births are to mothers who aren't married. Two-thirds of all African-American children are born into a home without a father. The state usually pays the tab. That is why we pay our taxes, so that government can take the place of parents. After all, government bureaucrats know much better how to raise children than parents do. It is called illegitimacy.
Me? I go to church, the minister preaches, I go home. That's what Christians do now.
At one time it was wrong. But then the state decided to legalize it, promote it and tax it. It has ripped apart families and destroyed lives. But just look at all the money the state has raised. No longer do we have to teach our children to study and work hard. Now we teach them they can get something for nothing. We spend millions encouraging people to join the fun and excitement. Just look at the big sums that people are winning. They will never have to work again! It is called gambling.
Me? I go to church, the minister preaches, I go home. That's what Christians do now.
Not long ago, Christians were the good guys. But now any positive image of Christians in movies or on TV is gone. We are now depicted as the bad guys - greedy, narrow-minded hypocrites. The teacher can't have a Bible on her desk, but can have Playboy. We don't have Christmas and Easter holidays - just winter and spring break. We can't pray in school, but can use foul language. It's called being tolerant.

Yes, all these things came to pass within 30 years. Where were the Christians? Why, they were in church. All these things are for someone else to deal with. Times have changed. Involvement has been replaced with apathy.
But don't blame me. I didn't do anything. "I go to church, the minister preaches, I go home. That's what Christians do now."

My Predictions for the New Obama "Presidency"

Now that America has shown us all that affirmative action even works in politics, I've compiled a list of things that you can probably expect to happen.  These predictions are 80% gleaned from information all of us have access to, and 15% gut instinct based on many years of research, historical study, and being glued to current affairs.  The other 5% is just anger at my countrymen's stupidity--I admit it.

PREDICTIONS:

• - Websites and mass emails offering "free grants," courtesy of the government and "Obama's wealth redistribution." Actually, this one's a freebie, because I have an email with a date and timestamp of literally minutes after Obama was declared the winner, offering exactly that.

• - Israel will understand this election was the end of any type of assistance, military or otherwise, from the U.S. , and will stop holding back their defense at the request of the American administration.  Look for a first strike on Iran soon, as well as increased activity by the Israeli military in general.  Israel is on her own now, and God help us all because of it.

• - Look for Iranian retaliation--against American targets.  That goes doubly for other terrorist organizations.  We just elected a man with the full endorsement of every major terrorist group in the world as leader of the free world.  It's the political equivalent of hiring a child molester to babysit your kids while you leave for the weekend. Not only is HE going to have fun with your child, but he'll probably sit and watch while his friends come over and do it too.

• - Look for far-left justices appointed to the Supreme Court, effectively tying up the entire government in a trifecta of liberal humanism, the buzzwords of which remain empty platitudes like "hope and change," and the ultimate goal of which is socialism--and soon, Shari law.

• - Military cases of troops being tried and convicted for killing the enemy in combat will continue to rise--and the conviction/plea-bargain rate will stay at nearly 100%, as the government seeks to use the best men and women this country has to offer as sacrificial lambs on the altar of global appeasement.  Those brave and honorable men who currently reside in prison cells across the country, stripped of their rank, their careers, families, and their good name, will not taste free air again for many years.  Their sacrifices and their stories will be forgotten by the general public, remembered only by those of us who continue to fight for them.

• - Look for the slow but steady erosion of rights you have enjoyed for your entire lives--all the while being told it's "for your own good." Restrictions on gun ownership, home schooling, encouraged dependence on the ever-growing federal government.  More nanny-state provisions will be put into place to protect the "disadvantaged" and the "poor," (read: lazy, uneducated, unwilling to better themselves) even while groups like the unborn, the mentally handicapped, elderly, and terminally ill are slowly pushed toward euthanasia.  Of course, this will be done with feel-good phrases like "death with dignity," "not wanting to be a burden," and "merciful release from suffering," all of which ignore the basic fact that we are killing people without their consent for the "good of the people." Before you tell me I'm crazy, let's just remember that Barack Obama was the ONLY senator in the Illinois state senate to vote against providing medical care for babies who were inconsiderate enough to survive an abortion.  Also, look for taxes to go up.  Yes, they'll go up.

• - You think the economy is bad now?  Just wait.  You'll have the most expensive "free" health care ever.  Bread lines aren't just for Russians anymore.

We have traded experience for color, freedom for slavery--and the irony is that the average American sheep thinks their vote somehow righted an ancient wrong, somehow ENDED the specter of slavery and ushered in some beautiful era of liberty.  In reality, we are about to be less free than you ever thought possible.

I watched the faces of those crowded into the mob (excuse the pun) in Chicago .  They stared at Obama like he was a god, an idol, a panacea to their every want and need.  We have truly failed as a nation if we are at the point where we feel we must look to one man to take care of us all, to be our father figure and our sugar daddy.  We have lost not only the "can-do" attitude of past generations, but the "MUST-do"
attitude of our forefathers.  We have allowed ourselves to become reduced from Patrick Henry's proud cry of "liberty or death" to the sniveling, whining idea that we are owed something.  We have gone from being the honorable defenders of freedom, to being told we are the problem.

The eyes of Obama and McCain were also telling.  McCain acted with class and grace in his concession speech , offering the most honorable response I've seen yet.  I don't agree with all of McCain's positions, but it cannot be denied that the man has served his nation--at permanent and severe detriment to himself--for half a century.  His eyes were clear and sincere, honest.  His speech underlined the very reasons why, of the two men offered, he was hands down the best choice.

On the other hand, Obama's eyes were cold, calculating.  His manner was smug and still carried the arrogance he has always had.  His facial expression was one of barely disguised disdain for everything people like me believe in.  His body language was smooth, polished--too much so.  He talked of patriotism as though it is a value he is familiar with--and yet, his horrifying attitude toward the country he now leads is as well-documented as his friendships with those who seek its demise.  He is charismatic to those who don't know what to look for, and he is inspiring to those who cannot or will not think for themselves. 
However, too many who voted for him are guilty of the most dangerous kind of hypocrisy.  You see, we are told daily that we must not see color, just mankind.  (We are all family, you know--or so we're told.) And yet Barack Obama was handed the White House on a silver platter by a fawning media, a bevy of foreign donors (who, to this day and in violation of U.S.   election laws, remain nameless and unaccounted for), and a populace who voted based on color instead of right and wrong--even in the face of the most damning evidence against a Presidential candidate in many years , perhaps ever.

It is said that the people receive the government they deserve.  Sadly, I fear that's correct.  We have become complacent, unwilling to see the writing on the wall, content to frolic in the warm water without bothering to notice that it's been getting hotter by the minute.  We are two seconds from a rolling boil--and perhaps it is already too late.

So, liberals, enjoy your victory.  Jump around.  Have a party, file for your free grants.  Scream "Gimme my handout!" and make fun of those of us who fought to make sure your "messiah" didn't get access to the most powerful position in the world.  Just remember when it all comes crashing down: You own the White House, the Congress, and soon the Supreme Court.  You have no one to blame but yourselves for the mess you just created.

As for me, I'm buying my handguns this week so I have an answer for those who will come try to take them.

One Road We Travel

John was walking down the road. He wasn’t sure, but the sunny day didn’t seem as bright as it once did. It might have been just his imagination. His clothes were dusty and disheveled and he was tired.

He looked at others on the road. All of them appeared to be in the same shape as he. Most of them were on foot, although several were on bicycles. Cars had fast become a thing of the past once the price of gas had reached $12 a gallon. Of course, it was hard to find anyway, because no other country wanted to sell their oil to foreign countries. Then again, pumping the gas from the pump was next to impossible now that electricity companies could not get coal to generate electricity. The government had banned the use of coal as being too dirty. Their plan was to substitute solar energy but the solar farms couldn’t generate enough power. So many families had to do without. Doing without had become a way of life.

As he continued down the road, he listened. It was eerily quiet. The people around him were quiet as they had nothing to talk about. There were no car sounds, no motor sounds. Above him, there was only the occasional plane flying, taking some government bureaucrat somewhere to do something, he was sure. The airlines had gone out of business, so they were absent from the air. Private planes were gone as well, as they were just too expensive to fuel and maintain.

But then again, planes indicated there was a place to go. The economy had tanked to virtually nothing. The banks, which had gone to the financial aid of Europe at government insistence, had crashed once country after country defaulted overseas. The viewpoint of the Europeans that more and more people required fewer and fewer people to pay for more and more for less and less return had collapsed the European Union. That same view had permeated the population of the United States as socialism took hold of the country. Europe’s collapse led to the collapse here. Companies that had measured their histories in centuries ceased to exist. Unemployment soared to near 50%, although the government said it was only 18%. Since the first of April, 2012, The United States had the highest corporate tax rate in the world so Asian money that could help deigned not to interfere. In fact, the Chinese considered a large percentage of things American to be hers already, so much debt had the United States accumulated.

The government had used an executive order signed a couple of years previously, in 2012, to nationalize companies and farms by declaring a national emergency. Why those in the now defunct Congress hadn’t seen the possible abuse potential, John still didn’t understand. The government had used one provision to press a large number of people into labor camps, at no compensation. They worked the factory lines and the farmland, yet production was nowhere near where it was before the collapse.

Finding out what was happening was difficult in times like these. The internet had been the first thing to be terminated. The government deemed such a high proportion of the content to be anti-government that it had to be shut down. Of course, they had to deem the Constitution invalid and then disband Congress first. To be honest, they had been dismantling the Constitution for many years and Congress had effectively been by-passed for almost as long. News was fed to the masses by government newspapers put out once a week. There was no television and no radio as there was very little electricity to run them. The White House Press Secretary handed out a statement of weekly news, mostly propaganda it was said, by radio to state government centers and then it was disseminated to the papers. No variances were allowed. But then, the media had been willing accomplices for a decade before the collapse and no journalistic integrity remained.

John continues to walk, although to where he still had no idea exactly. He’d had a wife and a home, both gone now. His wife had gotten ill and the government patient health panel had deemed her not to be worthy of health care. Well, there were few doctors anyway, and those still in employed in government service were quacks. More patients died as a result of their doctors than from the disease. After his wife’s death, the government determined it a waste of space for him to have his home to himself, so they turned it over to a group of twenty-somethings so they could rest comfortably after their college indoctrination. 

So there he was on the road, dusty, hot and tired. As he walked, he wondered how he could have been so complacent back in the early ’10s.

Open letter to citizens of Alabama. . .

Events in history have, from time to time, brought our nation to turning points. The historian's lens can often pinpoint the hinge of such turns.

Chamberlain's direction of the 20th Maine at Little Round top in 1863; the galvanizing images of an erupting explosion in the hull of the USS Arizona in 1941; determined men and women attempting to walk across a bridge in Selma in 1965; and the images of crumbling towers on a day simply known as 9-11 are examples.

One might call such events tipping points.

It is my firm belief that the November 6, 2012 presidential election is the most important of our lives. It will be a tipping point in American history.

On that day, Americans will decide if we are to be a nation in which the people are dependent upon the government or a nation in which the government is dependent upon the people.

The lines are that starkly drawn, and the consequences of that day's decision will bring lasting impact into each of our lives and into the lives of the next two generations of Americans. [indeed on the course of American history]

That fundamental question and those clear lines of distinction have convinced me of the urgent need for citizens of faith and conscience to unify for the purpose of insisting upon our government's attention to the principles of liberty established in the Constitution.

The hard part is determining an appropriate point of unity. We are a diverse people. Honest interpretations of Scripture or other sources of theological/philosophical thought leading to deeply held beliefs have formed hard lines that make it hard for us to agree.

Consequently, when a challenge to our religious liberty emerges as has been experienced in a recent federal order, vocal ones among us take up their various tribal banners and march their separate paths in numbers much too easy to ignore.

Then there are those whose banners remain furled. They are genuinely busy, are unaware of implications, are mistrustful of marching with strangers, are reluctant to take a stand, or in some cases, simply don't care.

The end is predictable...and counted upon...a bit of noise, honorable mention on the national news, and the threat to liberty advances, perhaps quietly for a while, but advances nonetheless.

We are living through it now.

But, what if that point of unity could be found? What if citizens of faith and conscience could gather without sacrifice of theological/philosophical distinctive's and in numbers that cannot be ignored? I believe we can.

Two places exist where citizens of faith and conscience can meet and make their voices heard.

The first is the voting booth on Tuesday.

We must vote. The Alabama republican primary will impact the national political profile. The 50 delegates at stake are potential king-makers.

As a person of faith, I have selected the candidate who best represents the American ideals of faith, conviction, and policy that I hold dear and for whom I will vote. You will make your own decision.  But, we must vote.

The second place is The Manhattan Declaration.

The Manhattan Declaration is a remarkably crafted call of Christian conscience that endorses the integrity of marriage, the integrity of life, and the integrity of religious liberty. Currently, 523,544 Americans have signed it. I expect that number to rise above 5 million before late summer 2012.

I urge my fellow Alabamians to join me in both places. It is time for men and women of faith and conscience to be heard. Our nation is at stake.

Beyond all that, I ask as always, that you pray for God's protection and provision to our country. He has and will provide.

The U. S. Constitution and Sharia Law
Throughout the history of this world there really have only been two kinds of law. We have given these systems of law very descriptive and easy names to remember. They are Rulers' Law and People's Law. Every legal system can fit under one of these two broad banners. Under Ruler's Law, the king or dictator makes the law. Under People's Law, the people make or accept the law by which they live. It is interesting that some of the most dominant kinds of legal systems have come about when it is claimed to emanate from God. Under Ruler's Law, if the ruler can make the people believe he has a divine right to rule, he can persuade the people to do about anything and the use of force becomes acceptable to many people if done in the name of God. Under People's Law, as was the case in Ancient Israel, when the people accepted Jehovah as their King and accepted His laws as their laws, it had a powerful persuasiveness to right actions. The major difference was that there was no use of force. Not even God would force a leader or laws on a people they did not willingly accept, because He respects the agency of man. Religion has been a powerful force throughout history in either types of law. In following the example of Ancient Israel, America's Founders set forth laws based on the laws of nature and of nature's God. It has catapulted the United States to an unmatched position as the most prosperous and freest nation on earth. Now we are faced with the same kind of threat that has been seen in the past-a system of compulsory laws which has the use of force at its very core and which claims to emanate from God. It is called Sharia Law. In 2010, an exhaustive study was published by a group of top security policy experts concerned with the preeminent totalitarian threat of our time: the legal-political-military doctrine known within Islam as Shariah. The study was designed to provide a "second opinion" on the official assessments of this threat as put forth by the United States government, which assessments included co-existence, accommodation, and even submission. By permission, much of the following is taken from this study. What is Sharia? The Arabic word "shariah," according to one modern English-language student textbook on Islam, "literally means a straight path (Quran 45:18) or an endless supply of water. It is the term used to describe the rules of the lifestyle ordained by Allah. In more practical terms, shariah includes all the do's and don'ts of Islam." In other words, shariah is held by mainstream Islamic authorities - not to be confused with "radical," "extremist" or "political" elements said to operate at the fringes of Islam - to be the perfect expression of divine will and justice and thus is the supreme law that must comprehensively govern all aspects of Muslims' lives, irrespective of when or where they live. Shariah is characterized as a "complete way of life" (social, cultural, military, religious, and political), governed from cradle to grave by Islamic law. While there are a few additional sources for sharia, the most notable and authoritative is the Quran. In Islamic parlance, the Quran is considered to be the uncreated word of Allah. According to Muslim belief, it has existed since the beginning of time and was revealed by the Archangel Gabriel in the 7th Century to the Prophet Mohammed in the Arabic language of his homeland. It is interesting to note that the verses in the Quran are not compiled in chronological order of revelations but are organized from longest to shortest. This presents confusion in trying to read the Quran. Also, there is really no central authority to clarify or interpret the versus, so many are left to their own understanding of the writings. While many, many millions of Muslims around the world do not practice their faith in a manner consistent with shariah, those who do practice shariah have grounds for arguing that their version of Islam is the authoritative one because of the Islamic doctrine of abrogation-which holds that the later verses supersedes or abrogates the earlier ones. As a result, the later verses become much more violent and forceful in relation to non-Muslims. For example: "Fight and slay the unbelievers wherever ye find them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem of war. But if they repent, and establish regular prayers and practice regular charity, then open the way for them; for Allah is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful. (Q 9:5) "Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Apostle, nor acknowledge the religion of truth, even if they are of the people of the Book [meaning Christians and Jews], until they pay the jizya [taxes on non-Muslims] with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued. (Q 9:29) Shariah is Anti-Constitutional Whether pursued through the violent form of jihad (holy war) or stealthier practices that shariah Islamists often refer to as "dawa" (the "call to Islam"), shariah rejects fundamental premises of American society and values: the bedrock proposition that the governed have a right to make law for themselves; the democratic republic governed by the Constitution; freedom of conscience; individual liberty freedom of expression (including the liberty to analyze and criticize shariah); economic liberty (including private property); equal treatment under the law (including that of men and women, and of Muslims and non-Muslims); freedom from cruel and unusual punishments; an unequivocal condemnation of terrorism (i.e., one that is based on a common sense meaning of the term and does not rationalize barbarity as legitimate "resistance"); and an abiding commitment to deflate and resolve political controversies by the ordinary mechanisms of our democratic republic, not wanton violence. The subversion campaign known as "civilization jihad" must not be confused with, or tolerated as, a constitutionally protected form of religious practice. Its ambitions transcend what American law recognizes as the sacrosanct realm of private conscience and belief. It seeks to supplant our Constitution with its own totalitarian framework.  
America's Founders and Islam
America's earliest presidents best understood these founding principles. They were not only deeply involved with their formal adoption, but they were professionally competent in explaining them. When confronted with an Islamic threat, they took the effort to consult primary sources and to conduct competent analysis of that threat. In 1786, Thomas Jefferson, ambassador to France, and John Adams, ambassador to England, met with the emissary of the Islamic potentates of Tripoli to Britain, Sidi Haji Abdul Rahman Adja, regarding the demands for tribute being made at the time by the so-called Barbary Pirates. Afterwards, Jefferson and Adams sent a four-page report to the Congress describing this meeting. The relevant portion of their report reads: "We took the liberty to make some inquiries concerning the Grounds of their pretentions to make war upon Nations who had done them no Injury, and observed that we considered all mankind as our friends who had done us no wrong, nor had given us any provocation. "The Ambassador answered us that it was founded on the Laws of their prophet, that it was written in their Qur'an, that all nations who should not have acknowledged their authority were sinners, that it was their right and duty to make war upon them wherever they could be found, and to make slaves of all they could take as Prisoners, and that every Musselman [Muslim] who should be slain in battle was sure to go to Paradise." John Adams' son and our sixth president, John Quincy Adams, whose formative years coincided with the founding of the republic, offers further insights into the early presidents' views on this subject. Like many Americans, he took an oath to uphold and defend the U.S. Constitution from all enemies, foreign and domestic. And, when faced with an Islamic enemy, he understood his obligation to be educated on the factual aspects of the principles, doctrines, objectives, jurisprudence and theology of shariah that comprised his enemy's threat doctrine. John Quincy Adams' 136-page series of essays on Islam displayed a clear understanding of the threat facing America then - and now, especially from the permanent Islamic institutions of jihad and dhimmitude. Regarding these two topics, Adams states: "...[Mohammed] declared undistinguishing and exterminating war, as a part of his religion, against all the rest of mankind.... The precept of the Quran is, perpetual war against all who deny, that [Mohammed] is the prophet of God. "The vanquished may purchase their lives, by the payment of tribute. As the essential principle of [Mohammed's] faith is the subjugation of others by the sword; it is only by force, that his false doctrines can be dispelled, and his power annihilated. "The commands of the prophet may be performed alike, by fraud, or by force. "This appeal to the natural hatred of the Mussulmen towards the infidels is in just accordance with the precepts of the Quran. The document [the Quran] does not attempt to disguise it, nor even pretend that the enmity of those whom it styles the infidels, is any other than the necessary consequence of the hatred borne by the Mussulmen to them - the paragraph itself, is a forcible example of the contrasted character of the two religions. "The fundamental doctrine of the Christian religion is the extirpation of hatred from the human heart. It forbids the exercise of it, even towards enemies. There is no denomination of Christians, which denies or misunderstands this doctrine. All understand it alike - all acknowledge its obligations; and however imperfectly, in the purposes of Divine Providence, its efficacy has been shown in the practice of Christians, it has not been wholly inoperative upon them. Its effect has been upon the manners of nations. It has mitigated the horrors of war - it has softened the features of slavery - it has humanized the intercourse of social life. The unqualified acknowledgement of a duty does not, indeed, suffice to insure its performance. Hatred is yet a passion, but too powerful upon the hearts of Christians. Yet they cannot indulge it, except by the sacrifice of their principles, and the conscious violation of their duties. No state paper from a Christian hand, could, without trampling the precepts of its Lord and Master, have commenced by an open proclamation of hatred to any portion of the human race. The Ottoman lays it down as the foundation of his discourse." In conclusion, it is clear from the writings of several of our earliest presidents, as well as the texts of the nation's founding documents, that American principles are not at odds with - and imperiled by - some "radical" or "extreme" version of Islam. Rather, it is the mainstream doctrine of shariah that constitutes the threat to the U.S. Constitution and the freedoms it enshrines. That incompatibility has several practical implications: For one thing, the shariah legal code cannot be insinuated into America - even through stealthy means or democratic processes - without violating the Constitution's Article VI Supremacy Clause, which requires that the Constitution "shall be the supreme Law of the land." Even more reprehensible is the willingness of some among America's elites, and it would appear even a subset of its elected leaders, to accede to these groups' increasingly insistent contention that shariah is compatible with the U.S. Constitution. In fact, based on shariah's tenets, its core attributes - especially its intolerance of other faiths and disfavored populations and its bid for supremacy over all other legal or political systems, there can be no confusion on this score: As the Framers fully understood, shariah is an enemy of the United States Constitution. The two are incompatible.
